Millwall Community Sports Coach

The Community Sports Coach Project is all about encouraging local people to get involved in a wide range of sporting activities. The focus is on getting activities up and running around the local area in the sports of basketball, netball, tennis, athletics and rugby. There is lots of coaching and competitions taking place at the local primary Schools both inside and outside of normal school hours, as well as activities at other local venues in the evenings and during school holidays.

The Project is also looking to build up "community sports clubs" that will be able to continue long after the funding for this initiative has finished. Part of the plan to achieve this is to help local people become trained up as coaches, officials (e.g. referees), or administrators (e.g. treasurers) to help local clubs develop.

Current clubs include the All Saints Netball Club which meet at The Lions Centre on Fridays at 6-8pm and the Millwall Basketball Club which meet on Wednesdays at 5-7pm.
