Trainee Childcare Workers Project

The Trainee Childcare Workers Project funded by the NDC for three years provides the opportunity for six people from the local community to gain a Level 2 qualification in childcare. The project enables two local people to be employed by Playhouse Community Nursery on a one-year contract.

Each trainee spends six month in the Baby Unit and six month in the Pre school group room. The project started in 2006 and the trainees appointed have both gained their Level 2 and one has already been offered a post in a local nursery. This is a superb opportunity to combine studies with practical childcare experience and offers a firm foundation to any career in childcare.
