Neighbourhood Wardens

The Wardens service provides a visible presence in the New Cross Gate area to help address crime, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime. The 10-strong team is recruited mainly from the local area, which helps to make engagement with the community more achievable. The Wardens work closely with key partners such as the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team, the Anti-social Behaviour Action Team (ASBAT), the Youth Offending Team (YOT), and local Tenants and Residents Associations (TRAs). They also establish positive relationships with residents while patrolling and attending public meetings, and work hard to put on and support positive activities for young people.
